Over ten billion things are already connected to the internet today - and the number is growing every hour, minute and second. But what happens if the overview of connected things is lost at some point? And what does this mean for IT security in companies?
The fact is that the trend towards ever more in-depth networking brings many benefits as well as risks, according to Boris Bärmichl in his keynote speech at the IT SECURITY Management & Technology Conference 2015. The boundaries between inside and outside the company can no longer be clearly drawn and offer cyber criminals new areas of attack. Nevertheless, companies' data and know-how must be protected.
It is important to recognize where the dangers lie and which new IT security strategies counteract them. Simply relying blindly on programs is the wrong approach. Well-trained personnel, also in the field of IT security, continue to play an important role in corporate security.
On June 16 in Frankfurt and June 18 in Neuss, the IT-SECURITY Conference kicked off with a presentation of the risks as well as the many opportunities presented by the new trends and technologies on the security market. More than 430 visitors attended the accompanying exhibition, workshops, roundtables and discussion forums, as well as specialist presentations by leading IT security providers, to find out how they can exploit the huge market potential for their companies.
