konstruktionspraxis" was first published 25 years ago. Since then, the working environment of design engineers has changed massively. The anniversary edition of "konstruktionspraxis" describes how they develop and design products today and which tools they use to do so.
Product developers and designers still play a key role within the companies they work for, even if the way in which products are designed has changed. With their ideas and further developments, they are the ones who contribute significantly to the economic success of a company and thus to the entire German mechanical and plant engineering industry.
In its anniversary issue, "konstruktionspraxis" has looked back on the past 25 years and asked designers and developers as well as managing directors and associations how design works today, where the focus lies and what we can expect in the future.
"In this issue, we also take a look at the technological highlights that have shaped the progress of the industry in recent years and show where the journey is heading. These include such exciting and overarching topics as lightweight construction, energy efficiency and the functional safety of machines and systems," explains Ute Drescher, Editor-in-Chief of "konstruktionspraxis". "However, a look at supposedly subordinate components such as seals or gears often reveals astonishing things. The development of these components also shows what inventiveness, resourcefulness and know-how can achieve."
