At the second Würzburg Dementia Day on 19 September 2015, researchers and organizations will be providing information on the latest findings and support options for those affected from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg.
In two parallel program blocks, interested parties from the medical, psychological, socio-educational and nursing fields, caregivers and all other interested parties, especially relatives of dementia patients, can learn more and obtain information. The Vogel Foundation has been a sponsor of the "Vogel Study", a research project for the early detection of dementia, since 2010 and is supporting this information event.
Several speakers will report on the current state of research, modern diagnostics and new treatment options, with a particular focus on practical assistance in everyday care. This further education and training event organized by the Center for Mental Health, Department of Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital of Würzburg is being held in cooperation with the Bavarian State Medical Association, the Alzheimer Society of Lower Franconia, HALMA e.V. and many others.
"The Vogel Foundation has been funding the Vogel study on the early detection of dementia for six years with over half a million euros. Now we are pleased to support the research project in another way," comments founder Dr. Kurt Eckernkamp: "We are making the Vogel Convention Center available and bringing the topic to the public. We hope that many people will find out more about dementia on September 19, as the number of dementia sufferers continues to rise and the need for education is growing!"
The free training course is certified by the Bavarian State Medical Association with 5 CME points (lectures plus learning success control).
