Mobile, personal and smart - mobile media use has become an integral part of everyday life. Tablets and smartphones have established themselves and are increasingly replacing PCs and notebooks. Many media companies have already responded to this trend and are hoping to make good profits in the battle for users' attention. But how can medium-sized media companies also take advantage of this new potential and invest wisely?
The Mobile Media Day will take place on November 24, 2015 at the Vogel-Convention-Center Würzburg . It will focus on the opportunities and possibilities arising from the change in media usage. What challenges will the industry face? How can small and medium-sized media companies respond? And what innovative solutions do global companies offer in the field of mobile media?
In previous years, interesting speakers from companies such as Microsoft, Ampaya, Welt online, handy-games.com, n-tv and ownCloud have already been presented in Würzburg. The first speakers have already been confirmed for MMD15. Among others, there will be: Mischa Smeljanskij from VICE Magazine, Christian Daubner from Bayerischer Rundfunk, Michael Jarjour from Blendle, Lina Timm from Media.Lab Bayern and Susann Hoffmann from the online magazine EDITION F. The speakers will provide insights and food for thought on the digital transformation of media and the use of mobile devices and wearables. This year's keynote speech will be given by Sascha Pallenberg from mobilegeeks.com.
The accompanying exhibition is also an important part of the Mobile Media Day. Last year, over 20 regional companies and start-ups were able to present themselves to the interested specialist audience. The Würzburg universities enriched the exhibition with exciting and innovative exhibits from IT, media and design-related courses of study. This cooperation will be repeated again this year.
MMD14 was already a great success, with the number of visitors more than doubling compared to the previous year with over 400 participants. A StartUp City was also set up for the first time, where start-ups from the region were able to present themselves to an interested audience. This year, the StartUp City will be expanded to include a supporting program with presentations specifically for start-ups. This is being done in cooperation with the Würzburg Innovation and Start-up Center and the new start-up initiative "Gründen in Würzburg".
The Mobile Media Day is an event organized by Bayerische Medien-Servicegesellschaft mbH (BayMS) in cooperation with: Vogel Business Media, Bayerische Landeszentrale für neue Medien (BLM), Coworking Würzburg, iWelt AG, IGZ Würzburg as well as Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS).
