On Wednesday at the SPS IPC Drives trade fair in Nuremberg, the trade journal "elektrotechnik" presented awards for the best company apps in automation for the fourth time. The industry award was presented in three categories this year: Catalog, Engineering and Production. The winners were SKF (Schweinfurt), Rösberg Engineering (Karlsruhe) and Mader (Leinfelden).
The jury evaluated the apps according to usability, security, relevance and utility value as well as the originality of the app and drew up a shortlist. Around 12,000 users voted online on elektrotechnik.de and in other Vogel Business Media specialist media. The winners of the individual categories were determined from the online voting, the user ratings in the respective stores and the judgment of the expert jury. The apps with the best overall results from the three equally weighted partial results emerged as the winners of the three categories:
Category "Catalog": SKF with the app SKF Magnetic Bearing, Schweinfurt
Jury statement: This app clearly explains how magnetic bearings work. It offers simulation options and can be used excellently as sales support directly at the customer's premises. Thanks to the integrated simulation, this app offers a high application benefit and therefore deserves the award in this category.
Engineering" category: Rösberg Engineering GmbH with the LiveDOK.mobile app, Karlsruhe
Jury statement: LiveDOK.mobile is a documentation software that is tailored to the needs of operational support and maintenance of technical systems. This app is the gateway to the document management system and has a very high utility value for users. This argument was an important point for the jury and so the award in the Engineering category goes to Rösberg.
Production" category: Mader GmbH & Co. KG with the LeakageApp, Leinfelden
Jury statement: This app can be used to document, prioritize and evaluate compressed air leaks. The app uses the barometer in the device to measure and detect leaks. A workflow is generated from this and optimization recommendations are made. The app can be used independently of the system and therefore receives the award in this category.
