The importance of reading skills in a knowledge society was the focus of the 10th Würzburg Benefit Concert at the end of November 2015. The enormous donation sum of 100,000 euros will be used to launch numerous projects in the Würzburg reading promotion region over the course of the first half of 2016, in addition to promoting first-time reading, as well as the topics of migration and social opportunities. A panel of experts from Würzburg has selected the first two reading projects to receive EUR 15,000 with the support of the Reading Foundation (Mainz):
- 10,000 euros for the Spieli to set up a
reading club (duration 3 years),
- 5,000 euros will go to the "Würzburg reads a book" campaign.
