According to "kfz-betrieb", industry experts estimate that between seven and ten percent of all vehicles that come into a garage every year have glass damage. This means that with around 75 million repair orders, the glass business alone should generate between 5.2 and 7.5 million jobs in garages. However, this figure actually amounts to 2.4 million jobs.
In May, the German motor vehicle trade is therefore proclaiming Car Glass Month for the second time, which will be advertised on television, radio and in print. The Internet platform Autoglas-Partner.de is a partner in this campaign. The German motor trade launched the Autoglas-Partner system around three years ago. Currently, around 530 master car mechanics are participating nationwide. This initiative is supported by TÜV Nord.
Drivers who start an Internet search using a relevant keyword such as windshield, car windshield, stone chip, etc. are offered the opportunity to switch to the Autoglas-partner website. There, the driver is then put in touch with a master car mechanic in their area who is able to replace their windshield properly and professionally.
