In 2016, specialist publishers were able to enter their media into the race for "Specialist Media of the Year" in eleven subject categories: "Best Trade Magazine up to / over EUR 2.5 million turnover", "Best App", "Best E-Magazine", "Best Website", "Best Integrated Brand Management", "Best Workflow Solution", "Best Use of Social Media", "Best Award", "Best Communication Solution" and "Best Start-up". An expert jury evaluates the submissions in a multi-stage process and determines the winner in each category.
"bike und business" won in the "Best Award" category. "Young and dynamic, that's the first impression of the "Bike Women of the Year" award. With this award, "bike und business" and "Fembike.de" are jointly honoring the power women of the motorcycle industry and thus setting an exclamation mark for the appreciation of business women in a strongly male-dominated industry," the jury commented on the decision: "This is an unconventional approach to opening up new market potential, also through the trend-setting combination of B2B and B2C media. Previously untapped potential is being unleashed here! The award itself is characterized by a high level of emotion, for example submissions must be made in the form of video clips and the media form already contributes to community building. The successful sponsorship financing by market partners underlines the attractiveness of the award concept."
"Our award electrified me from the very first second. The two networks of "bike und business" (B2B) and "Fembike" (B2C) were able to mobilize their communities right from the start and encourage them to take part," explains Stephan Maderner, Editor-in-Chief of "bike und business": "I was particularly impressed by the application clips of the industry's power women, which were filmed with a lot of esprit and enthusiasm."
The specialist medium for the motorized two-wheeler industry has now won two awards: Back in 2014, "bike und business" won the title of "Trade medium of the year" in the "Best use of social media" category.
