Ever since the first issue 31 years ago, "Der Würzburger" has been intended to have added value - not only for the experience of the trainees in the areas of editing, advertising sales and layout, but also because charitable projects in the region are to be supported. This year, the proceeds from ad sales will once again be donated to regional institutions. A novelty: this year, for the first time, there are three donation recipients, "KIWI e.V.", "Willkommen mit Musik" and "Heuchelhofer Hände".
The "KIWI e.V." is an interest group with the aim of providing the best possible support for young patients and their parents, friends and relatives in the pediatric intensive care unit and the premature and neonatal intensive care unit in the Mother and Child Center at Würzburg University Hospital. Numerous helpers and a volunteer board are actively involved in helping the people there through difficult stages of life.
The "Welcome with Music" project aims to give people who have had to leave their homes the opportunity to forget their experiences through music, at least for a while. The project aims to liven up everyday life in the initial reception centers for refugees. It also aims to create initial points of contact with the new environment through play.
The "Heuchelhofer Hände" are an association of volunteers who try to make the refugees' stay in the accommodation at Heuchelhof more enjoyable. The project is supported by the Getsemane Church at Heuchelhof. Most of the donation will be used for language teaching materials and social events.
