The award participants were first evaluated using a questionnaire. The consultants from Growtth Consulting and Quadriga Consult then carried out "Lean & Green Assessments" at the companies. Finally, a jury of experts evaluated the results and selected the best companies.
The five 2016 award winners at a glance:

- Lean and green integrated: Rohde & Schwarz, Memmingen
- Lean and Green in contract manufacturing: Neuenhauser, Geeste-Dalum
- Special prize Lean and Green newly built: Festo, Ostfildern-Scharnhausen near Stuttgart
The award ceremony will take place on 5 December 2016 on the occasion of the "Lean & Green Summit", which is jointly organized by the two consulting firms and the trade journal "Automobil Industrie".
The specialist congress focuses on resource efficiency with an intelligent combination of lean management and Industry 4.0 applications. In addition to the award ceremony and best-practice presentations by the winners, the focus will be on the cross-industry exchange of practical suggestions, new methods and techniques in holistic resource management. Participants will also be given an insight into the factory of the future during a factory tour and learn in a practical way how lean management approaches can be intelligently combined with green aspects and Industry 4.0 applications.
