The cross-industry award evaluates processes from lean management as well as energy and environmental management and recognizes the most successful approaches to increasing resource efficiency throughout the company. "Resource efficiency will continue to gain in importance and will be decisive for success on the market in the long term," said Daniel Reichert, Coordinator Lean & Green at Growtth Consulting Europe, at the award ceremony. He also expressed his conviction that digitalization would bring new opportunities in almost all Lean & Green fields - as this year's award winners had impressively demonstrated.
The winners of the "Lean and Green Management Award" 2016 and their strengths:
- Automotive OEM/Corporate category: BMW Plant Munich - Excellence in Leadership and Strategy
- Automotive SME category: Bolta Werke, Leinburg/Diepersdorf - Environmental protection and employee development as a regional task
- Category manufacturing industry OEMs/groups: Rohde & Schwarz Messgerätebau, Memmingen - Integrated consideration of Lean & Green
- Manufacturing industry SME category: Neuenhauser Maschinenbau, Geeste-Dalum - Creativity and growth through Lean & Green
- Special Lean & Green Award: Festo, Ostfildern-Scharnhausen - Consistent use of principles in the new construction of the technology factory
The award participants were first evaluated using a questionnaire. The consultants from Growtth Consulting and Quadriga Consult then carried out "Lean & Green Assessments" at the companies. Finally, a jury of experts evaluated the results and selected the winners.
