At the same time, research is still being carried out on the combustion engine - with astonishing success. "The heated debate about soot particles and nitrogen oxides is basically a topic of the past," explains Prof. Dr. Thomas Koch, Head of the Institute for Piston Engines at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In an interview with "Automobil Industrie", he talks about the loss of trust between industry and politics, the future of the combustion engine and the change in strategy towards electromobility.
From combustion engines to plug-in hybrids and hydrogen cars: in the current issue 4, the specialist medium "Automobil Industrie" sheds light on the potential of existing and future drive systems and also looks at the international fragmentation of the markets. "The industry is further away than ever from a global standardization of drive systems," sums up Jens Meiners, author of the cover story "What will drive in the future?".
