New specialist book "Electromobility"

High-voltage and 48-volt systems // Technology and diagnostics // Practical tips for a successful start

Drive electrification is slowly but surely becoming the standard in our cars. Hardly any other technology currently has as much potential as electric drives: electric motors can not only make the combustion engine more effective, but also replace it completely.

The new compact reference book "Electromobility" provides an overview of the diverse possibilities and characteristics of current electric drives. It also goes into detail about their technology and takes a look into the future and the potential of electric drives: for example, the book deals with the new 48-volt systems. These enable car manufacturers to bring the advantages of hybrid drives to cars at significantly lower costs than with high-voltage technology. The book also looks at battery-electric high-voltage drives, which are gradually developing into a serious alternative drive system thanks to improved battery technology and increasingly efficient drivetrains.

However, the book not only covers the technology and diagnosis of the systems. It also presents various vehicle models and looks at developments on the market. Car dealerships also receive tips on how they can successfully enter the world of electromobility. High-voltage vehicles are bringing fundamental changes to the automotive industry - both for employees in workshops and car salespeople.

Depending on the drive variant, the new technology is extremely complex and will lead to less turnover in workshops in the long term. At the same time, the high-voltage technology of electric cars requires new advisory skills from sales staff. After all, they are the ones who have to find out whether an electric or hybrid car suits their customer's driving profile. To do this, they need to be well versed in the new drive technology and ideally have already gained extensive electric driving experience themselves.

The new specialist book has been published in the "Knowledge for Professionals" series by Vogel Business Media and provides the basics for competent consulting.
