Automechanika Frankfurt and the trade journal "kfz-betrieb" presented awards to the ten best independent garages in Germany at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg on October 27, 2017. Selecting the top ten was no easy task for the jury members. This is because all of the award-winning companies have a very high quality of service and work. "The award-winning independent garages are beacons in the German automotive industry. They are a good benchmark for many other players in the service market," emphasized "kfz-betrieb" editor-in-chief Wolfgang Michel.
The jury for the German Workshop Award is made up of representatives from the "kfz-betrieb" editorial team and Automechanika Frankfurt. After evaluating the applications for the coveted award, the jury members visited the ten best independent garages on site. They assessed the external and internal appearance of the automotive businesses, the services offered, marketing, customer approach and support as well as company and employee management. "It is fascinating to see the high quality standards and the joy with which the winners of the German Workshop Award go about their work. This is the right way to be and remain successful," said Olaf Mußhoff, Director Automechanika Frankfurt.
The jury members particularly liked the glazed and tastefully furnished customer center of the Schmid dealership, which is rather atypical for an independent car dealership. The many employee and customer events that Alexander Schmid regularly organizes with his team are also impressive. These include, for example, joint hiking days with employees, trips to well-known motorsport racetracks and technical and cooking courses at the dealership. "In all our campaigns and events, the focus is not on the cars, but on the people," said Alexander Schmid.
