From Bach to Gershwin, from Latin to jazz and swing: In the sold-out Vogel Convention Center, the legendary "Klazzbrothers" presented a musical crossover mix of classic and jazz with many other styles under the motto "Swingin' the classic". The BIG Catering team served up a culinary crossover to match.
The evening's special treats for the ears were the two star guests and international soloists: the unique Australian trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist James Morrison and the Greek jazz vocal wonder Maria Markesini. Once again in 2017, all proceeds from ticket sales, donations and sponsorship money went to a funding project in the region.
Hülya Düber, Social Affairs Officer of the City of Würzburg and first chairwoman of the "Halma" association, accepted the donation cheque for EUR 50,000 together with Halma Managing Director Ursula Weber and thanked the quartet of organizers for their extraordinary entrepreneurial commitment. The association is primarily active in dementia care and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
"This is a huge relief for our association," said a delighted Düber: "We will use the money to update the entire structure of the association and also its external image with our vocational college in order to attract more young people to train in geriatric care."

With the Würzburg charity concert, the four organizers, Koenig & Bauer, Mediengruppe Main-Post, Robert Krick Verlag and Vogel Business Media, have established a major social charity event for Würzburg every year. After ten years of purely classical concerts, a new series was launched in 2016. Personalities, organizations and service clubs from Würzburg society support this extraordinary event and the good cause it promotes. In the last 12 years, around 650,000 euros in donations have already been handed over in this way.
