Background: At the beginning of 2018, Vogel Business Media announced the new "Vogel 2022" strategy under the newly formed, three-member management team with spokesperson Matthias Bauer. In the 127th year of its existence, the specialist media company is positioning itself with comprehensive communication services. In April 2018, Vogel launched "Next Industry", a new type of specialist medium that accompanies the digital transformation in Vogel's target markets. The next step in the Group's further development is now underway with the new CI.
"We follow our customers' communication budgets and they expect far more from us than just ads and banners. Chatbots, social media, corporate publishing and PR, as well as SEO, live communication and intranet solutions have long been part of our customer-specific offering for the individual communication mix. We advise and support companies strategically in their digital transformation. To this end, we develop and implement contemporary communication strategies," explains Matthias Bauer, CEO: "We have been anchored in the major economic sectors of industry and automotive for over 100 years, in IT since the early 1970s, and in Berlin we have integrated new competencies in recent years with currently five agencies. A key asset is and remains the quality journalism of our more than 100 established specialist media brands, which enjoy a high reputation and trust in around 20 sectors and are therefore a guarantee for direct access to the industry. In this way, we help our customers to achieve their communication goals in the best possible way and thus also promote the digital transformation in their companies."
The brand renewal process was accompanied by BrandTrust, a leading brand management consultancy based in Nuremberg. "Together with those responsible at Vogel, we used a systematic process to work out what makes the Vogel brand credible based on its past, attractive in the future and at the same time distinguishable from the competition," explains Jürgen Gietl, Managing Director of BrandTrust: "The result is a precise framework for action to get customers excited about the superior offerings. With the help of the leading trade media brands, the established trade events and the outstanding marketing services of the agencies belonging to the group, Vogel will occupy a clear No. 1 position in the digital age as the most important platform for specialist communication in the future."
The Berlin-based digital agency Integr8 Media won the pitch and is responsible for the creation. "The further development of the visual identity underlines Vogel's forward-looking strategy. Our mission was to design all touchpoints of the brand in such a way that the values are manifested in the visual design - tradition in the DNA, future in the appearance," explains Julian Albers, Managing Partner of Integr8 Media: "In addition to colors, logo, website and co. all elements that form the brand image were designed in close collaboration - the result is a new, modern look with a tribute to tradition and the clear goal: Empower!"
