On Friday, September 21, various institutions from Würzburg and Lower Franconia will provide information on current findings and support options for those affected and anyone interested in the topic in the form of a keynote speech and workshops from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg.
On Saturday, September 22, the Marienberg Fortress Conference Center will host a scientific training and continuing education course on the topic for colleagues from the medical, psychological, socio-educational and nursing fields of nursing, healthcare and geriatric care.
Unfortunately, the following still applies: dementia is not curable, but ultimately still fatal. The person, their personality, their ego, is disappearing more and more. And despite small glimmers of hope for possible cures far off on the horizon, it is not even remotely clear when humanity will be redeemed from this curse. There is a considerable need for research!
The events have been very well received in recent years. The Würzburg Dementia Days are a cooperation project between the Center for Mental Health at the University Hospital of Würzburg, the Alzheimer Society of Würzburg/Lower Franconia, the Geriatric Rehabilitation Clinic of the AWO, the Bürgerspital Würzburg, the Vogel Foundation Dr. Eckernkamp, the Bavarian State Medical Association and HALMA e.V.
The Vogel Foundation has been a sponsor of the "Vogel Study", a research project for the early detection of dementia, since 2010 and supports this information event.
