- App category: Vega Grieshaber (Schiltach)
- Solution category: Cadera Design (Würzburg)
- Innovation category: Siemens (Nuremberg)
The jury evaluated the apps according to usability, relevance, utility value and originality of the app. The apps with the best overall results were the winners:
App category: VEGA Tools from Vega Grieshaber
Users of the "VEGA Tools" app can adjust Vega sensors for level and pressure measurement wirelessly and have access to relevant device information such as the operating instructions, test certificates and safety instructions. Around 80 different Vega sensors equipped with the Plicscom adjustment module with Bluetooth can be adjusted wirelessly using the app. The jury was impressed by the app's good usability and the reduced risk potential for people that can be achieved with this app, as it enables seamless operation of sensors on high tanks and in areas that are difficult to access, including hazardous areas.
Category Solution: Digital Planning Assistant from Audi submitted by Cadera Design
Increasing quantities and many vehicle variants mean that vehicle manufacturer Audi is constantly having to modify production lines and change assembly processes. The planners responsible for the production lines have to take into account employee capacity utilization, the use of space for logistics and the economic efficiency of the line. Until now, planners have had to gather planning information from various sources at their desks. In future, the "Digital Planning Assistant" app - or DPA for short - will help to retrieve and process all relevant information on the move. In view of the complex processes and large amounts of data in the background, the solution has very good usability, according to the jury, as various data is clearly visualized. Cadera Design is responsible for the design.
Innovation category: Simatic Notifier from Siemens
If a machine or system has a fault, it is important to act quickly to prevent any downtime. To enable employees to react more quickly, Siemens has developed the Simatic Notifier app, which informs employees directly on their tablet, smartphone or smartwatch. The notifications are forwarded to the relevant user group via Wi-Fi and can be confirmed by the employee who is dealing with the problem for everyone to see. The jury awarded the app in the Innovation category because it makes it possible to integrate a smartwatch into the production and maintenance process.
