Augsburg/Germany, 6 July 2007
Virtualisation has progressed to become the key technology for dynamic IT infrastructure solutions and the engine driving IT. How can companies achieve optimum IT infrastructures through virtualisation while at the same time reducing their costs for administration and energy? The thirst for information among users and IT decision-makers is greater than ever. That fact was also reflected at the VMware customer event, Symposia 2007, which was filled to capacity with more than 1,600 registered visitors. And, in its role as the event’s media partner, SearchDataCenter.de was right at the centre of where it was all happen¬ing, supplying on-the-spot information to the event’s participants.
„We too were very pleased about the high level of interest shown and the high quality of visitors to the event,“ stated Sonja Reindl-Hager, Regional Marketing Manager for Central Europe. „That shows very clearly what sort of status the topic of virtualisation enjoys within businesses. We therefore attach great importance to working together with SearchDataCenter because customers can use the website to obtain information in a thorough and professional way about the opportunities and options presented by virtualisation.“
VMware presented solutions at the symposium VMware used the customer symposium not only to discuss current trends, developments and positions in the market but also to present some of its new products. These included Version 3 of its VMware infrastructure, with which businesses – be they small or large – will be able to optimise and manage their IT environment using virtualisation. A further highlight was the lab manager with which businesses can realise their development processes more cost-effectively and economically in terms of resources with the help of virtualisation.
Experts from SearchDataCenter in dialogue with the event participants
Visitors to the event did not only profit from the many interesting VMware presentations but were also able to obtain useful information from the SearchDataCenter.de stand. The experts were there to answer people’s questions on virtualisation and, of course, also on the topic of computing centres and IT infrastructure.
„Direct dialogue with the visitors to the event and with readers is very important to us. We were able to learn a lot from IT decision-makers about what they need and expect of virtualisation,“ said Achim B.C. Karpf, Editor-in-Chief of SearchDataCenter.de. „That enables us to gear the content of our website perfectly to people’s requirements and to make sure that the articles on the website cover all the important topics.“
Intensifying the business partnership
The event was a premiere in that it marked the first time that VMware and SearchDataCenter.de had worked together. Both parties drew the positive conclusion that it certainly will not be the last time. Media business partnerships will certainly also bear fruits in other sectors too.
