Höchberg/Germany, 5 April 2007
After the successful launch of its entertainment portal, cynamite.de, and its magazine, “CYNAMITE – Das kostenlose Entertainmentmagazin”, CyPress GmbH is now introducing another new product under the umbrella brand name of CYNAMITE: a magazine entitled “Cynamite CAMPUS”.
According to Germany’s Federal Statistical Office, more than 1.9 million students were registered at German colleges and universities in the 2006/2007 winter semester. These students have spending power amounting to 12.5 thousand million euros and are likely to have high incomes when they have finished studying – two points which speak in favour of targeting this particular group. During their years at college or university, students will develop certain buying habits and will form brand preferences. Also, students are trend setters, opinion leaders and disseminators. This means that they form the ideal target group for advertisements which are not only geared towards a specific product but are also intended to make people aware of a brand name and continue to be aware of it on the long term.
“Cynamite CAMPUS” is positioned as a college/university magazine which looks at digital communications, lifestyle and entertainment. The magazine appeals to students by selecting topics which are of relevance to the target group and addressing its audience in the right way. The spectrum of topics it covers includes mobile end devices, such as cell phones, notebooks, smart-phones, mp3-players, and also digital photography, home cinema, films, music, electronic games and lifestyle. Quite apart from presenting products and providing technology specials, “Cynamite CAMPUS” has an additional useful feature to offer: hot-off-the-press campus news. This gives students a comprehensive overview of all the important topics which affect them. The magazine contains helpful advice, interesting studies on universities and the job market, attractive work experience placements, recruiting dates for students’ diaries, and information on postgraduate courses, which all give its readers food for thought and help to open up new perspectives. The editorial side of things lies in the capable hands of Dr. Alexander Bidell.
The circulation figure for “Cynamite CAMPUS” amounts to 200,000 copies for distribution. The German College & University Recruitment Office distributes the magazine free of charge. It is placed in campus info towers at the universities and colleges and is also directly handed out to students. The market launch of “Cynamite CAMPUS” has been publicised very thoroughly by billboard advertising at the universities and colleges. As the Managing Director of CyPress, Alessandro de Bochdanovits, comments: “We are extremely pleased that we have not only managed to find an excellent distributor in the German College & University Recruitment Office – which has had years of experience in this field – but also that we have succeeded in concluding an exclusive, long-term co-operation agreement with the latter.”
