Around 180 participants and exhibitors met at the "Enterprise Workspace Summit" in Frankfurt on October 10 and 11, 2019. Under the motto "Creating Future Workspace - Productive. Secure. Anywhere.", participants from various industries discussed what the modern, digital workplace looks like for them and what strategies and technologies are needed to achieve this.
Keynotes on the topics of working in the digital world and the impact of AI, machine learning & robotics as well as the associated cultural and organizational change provided an outlook on how the world of work will continue to change. Participants were then able to discuss this in greater depth in the appropriate think tanks and contribute their opinions and experiences.
The Focus keynotes from sectors such as healthcare, automotive, finance and industry & production provided concrete reports from the field. Axel Ernst (University Hospital Basel) spoke about innovations such as wearables, mobile tracking and patient data in the cloud, while Dr. Klaus Höffgen (Lukaskrankenhaus) presented various scenarios for cyber attacks in hospitals. Franz Weghofer from the Magna Steyr Smart Factory reported on intelligent manufacturing in industry. Sebastian Grimm (Siemens) and Christopher Bouveret (Simplifier) also presented how production is being rethought digitally. The accompanying exhibition with 19 suppliers invited visitors to find out more about the technologies and engage in in-depth discussions in one-on-one meetings.
The highlight of the summit was the closing keynote by the first German astronaut Dr. Suzanna Randall about her mission to the ISS. She then presented the "Enterprise Workspace Awards 2019". The jury had selected nine finalists from 22 applications, who presented their solutions once again on site. The winners were then chosen. The jury was made up of Werner Nieberle (Vogel IT-Medien), Pascal Matzke (Forrester), Jürgen Schaar (Blockchain First) and Philipp Hübsch (mediaTest digital). The opinion of the audience was also sought. Participants were able to determine the winner of the Audience Award in a live vote.
