The winner of the Service Award 2019 has been announced: the Beresa OWL dealership in Detmold, partner of Mercedes-Benz and part of the northern German Beresa Group, took first place in the 24th edition of Germany's most important cross-brand workshop award. The winners received their award on 25.11.2019 at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg.
Beresa particularly impressed the jury, which included editors from the trade journal "kfz-betrieb" as well as representatives from the sponsors Continental, Loco-Soft and TÜV Nord, with the dedication with which the entire team had promoted the application for the Service Award. Operations manager Jan Reese took the opportunity of taking part in the Service Award to "take a look at the location of the former Mercedes branch from the customer's perspective". The result was a list of almost 120 points that had to be worked through. Everything was put to the test, from the layout of the customer parking lot to the waiting area and the location of the receptionist desks. "The quality of work has increased noticeably, as colleagues can now concentrate on their work without being disturbed," says Reese, explaining the success of his measures. And because Beresa OWL is also at the forefront when it comes to digitalizing service processes and is also economically successful, the company is the deserved winner of the Service Award 2019.
Wolfgang Michel, Editor-in-Chief of "kfz-betrieb", comments: "The success of Beresa OWL shows the potential for renewal in owner-managed car dealerships. Since the Beresa Group took over the former factory branch in 2015, it has completely overhauled the service process and geared it towards the customer. Last but not least, the company offers its employees a future-proof workplace."
However, it is not only the employees of Beresa OWL in Detmold who can be pleased, but all the winners of the Service Award. Because they have proven that they are among the best service companies in Germany.

Together with its partners Continental, Loco-Soft and TÜV Nord, the trade journal "kfz-betrieb" awards prizes to car dealerships that stand out for their innovative service concepts and sophisticated marketing strategies. The competition is aimed at brand-bound car dealerships and is held throughout Germany on a cross-brand and manufacturer-neutral basis. Evaluation criteria include innovative marketing ideas, clear processes and outstanding customer service. The elaborate application concept guarantees the high quality of the award-winning businesses. After an online entrance test, participants must complete an extensive questionnaire in which they describe their workshop business in detail. The ten businesses with the highest scores are then visited by a jury.
