On November 16, 2011, the Federal Cabinet finally approved the entry into force of the amended "Dental Fee Schedule" (GOZ). This was the first reform of the GOZ in 24 years. The federal government expects fees to increase by 6 percent - corresponding to EUR 345 million per year. Of this, private health insurance companies are expected to bear 122 million euros and private households 164 million euros in additional costs.
Dental practices only have a few weeks left until January 1, 2012 to implement this. The IWW Institute has therefore taken a bundle of measures to provide assistance:
- A special booklet with a synopsis "GOZ 1988" and "GOZ 2012" can be accessed by any dentist free of charge as part of a trial order. The special booklet contains the fee items and fees in comparison, the changes are highlighted in color. A quick overview with the current fees and compact billing information will be included with the information services "Privatliquidation aktuell", "Abrechnung aktuell" and "Praxis Implantologie" in December.
- In particular, "Privatliquidation aktuell" reports in detail on the new GOZ and uses examples to illustrate its practical implementation. You can request a sample issue from: www.iww.de/informationsdienste/zahnaerzte/PA/
The IWW Institute also offers seminars in eight major German cities. Practical exercises are used to train the implementation of the GOZ in practice. You can find more information here: www.iww.de/index.cfm?pid=1297&pk=1285.
