Frankfurt am Main / Essen, June 14, 2012.
Stefan Rühling, CEO of Vogel Business Media (Würzburg), is the new spokesperson for Deutsche Fachpresse. He was elected to the post today at the first meeting of the new board of Deutsche Fachpresse and replaces Karl-Heinz Bonny (Landwirtschaftsverlag, Münster), who had been spokesperson for Deutsche Fachpresse since 2009. The deputy spokesperson is Claudia Michalski, Managing Director of Beuth Verlag (Berlin). "With its 20th anniversary, the German Trade Press is breaking new ground in many respects. As spokesperson, I would like to promote all of this to the best of my ability and continue on the path we have taken," emphasizes Stefan Rühling at the start of his term of office.
Together with eight other board members, the new team of spokespersons will represent the interests of German trade publishers for the next three years. The board was elected today at a joint general meeting of the Fachverband Fachpresse (FVFP) in the Verband Deutscher Zeitschriftenverleger (VDZ) and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Zeitschriftenverlage (AGZV) in the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, which together form the Verein Deutsche Fachpresse, at the Congress of the German Trade Press in Essen. The FVFP is now represented on the board by Holger Knapp (Deutscher Fachverlag), Ludger Kleyboldt (NWB Verlag), Dr.-Klaus Krammer (Krammer Verlag), Dr. Christoph Müller (Verlagsgesellschaft Rudolf Müller) and Stefan Rühling (Vogel Business Media) represent the interests of trade publishers, while Wolfgang Beisler (Carl Hanser Verlag), Wolfgang Burkart (Verlag W. Sachon), Claudia Michalski (Beuth Verlag), Hans Oppermann (Alfons W. Gentner Verlag) and Dr. Eva E. Wille (Wiley-VCH Verlag) represent the AGZV.
Karl-Heinz Bonny and Dr. Lothar Vincentz, Managing Director of Vincentz Network (Hanover), no longer stood for election to the Board and were bid farewell at the General Assembly with many thanks for their achievements and commitment. "Karl-Heinz Bonny and Dr. Lothar Vincentz have contributed greatly to the development of Deutsche Fachpresse into a modern platform for the professionalization and representation of the interests of German trade media companies," said Bernd Adam, Managing Director of Deutsche Fachpresse. "We would like to thank them for their ideas and the passion with which they have worked so successfully." Karl-Heinz Bonny was active on the Board of Directors from 2006 to 2012, and has been Chairman of the FVFP and spokesperson for Deutsche Fachpresse since 2009.
