The first prize of 7,500 euros was awarded to Anja Kühner for her article "Wer antwortet, gewinnt" (Who answers, wins), published in "BANKMAGAZIN" (Springer Fachmedien). The second prize (5,000 euros) went to Volker Votsmeier for the article "Brand im Casino" in the magazine "JUVE Rechtsmarkt" (JUVE Verlag). Martin Mehringer was awarded third prize (2,500 euros) for his article "Tumult um Tönnies" in the "Lebensmittel Zeitung" (dfv Mediengruppe).
"Curiosity, passion and creativity are the basis for journalistic quality. The three award-winning articles fascinate the reader. Their authors are committed to their
passion and expertise for their industries. This is exactly how it should be," said a delighted Stefan Rühling, spokesman for the German trade press, Chairman of the Management Board of Vogel Business Media and Chairman of the Karl Theodor Vogel Foundation, at the announcement of the best writers in the trade media landscape: "I would like to congratulate the three award winners and thank them on behalf of the Foundation and the German trade press for these excellent examples of trade journalistic skill!" The three winning articles were selected from over 90 entries by an eleven-member jury chaired by Professor Dr. Lutz Frühbrodt, Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences.
