The cloud hype was just the beginning. The hosting and service provider business is developing towards even more flexibility, automation and security when accessing data, applications and processes - across all industries. The 164 visitors to the Hosting & Service Provider Summit, which took place on May 21 and 22, 2015 at the Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt am Main, agreed with this. The summit was used by leading providers, experts and representatives of the hosting and service provider market to discuss the latest trends.
Daniel Hagemeier (Advisor, Deutsche Börse Cloud Exchange) opened the summit with a provocative question: "Grow or Go?" In his keynote speech, he presented what he considers to be the most important success factors for efficient growth in the hosting market. Stefano Maruzzi (Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, GoDaddy) addressed customer requirements and showed how these are expressed in the digital environment in particular.
A particular highlight was the keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Martin Welsch (Chief Technology Advisor, IBM Germany Research & Development). He presented the future of information technology based on a personal view and the IBM Global Technological Outlook. In the last keynote of the first day, Gerhard Sundt (Supervisory Board and Private Equity Investment Advisor) scrutinized the "hosting company" financing model.
Prof. Dr. Oliver Hinz (Professor of Business Informatics, TU Darmstadt) welcomed the guests on the second day of the event with his topic "Services and costs of cloud providers - a market analysis". Dr. Claus Boyens (Managing Director, Host Europe) then invited guests to reflect: Is uncompromising customer focus driving growth in a saturated market? And how do companies benefit from this? Sebastian von Bomhard (CEO, SpaceNet) spoke about "Crystal Ball as a Service" in the final keynote.
The keynotes were complemented by numerous best-practice presentations from the event partners, discussion panels from the participants and the presentation of the top nominees of the Hosting & Service Provider Awards 2015.
