In the digital age, everyone is vulnerable - regardless of whether they are commercial enterprises, private individuals or public authorities. Headlines such as the recent hack of the Bundestag make this clear. This makes it all the more important to handle data sensitively and rethink existing security strategies.
The great need for action was also reflected at this year's IT SECURITY Management & Technology Conference 2015. "Increasing visitor numbers, returning exhibitors, positive feedback from all locations," Thomas Uhlemann from ESET also noted. In his presentation, he welcomed the guests to the "Internet of Things" and presented modern security concepts.
"There was a common consensus among the various manufacturers on the topics, which once again underlines the signs of the times," added Tobias Schubert from Trend Micro Germany. The main focus here was on the challenges posed by Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, as well as the interaction between IT and people.
These topics were also addressed in the independent keynote speeches "Industry 4.0 - Threat Situation 4.0" by Boris Bärmichl and "The Big Picture of the Digital Revolution" by Daniel Domscheit-Berg. Wilfried Reiners looked at the topic from the perspective of a lawyer and wanted to know "who actually owns the data". As it turned out, this question can no longer be answered unequivocally. The boundaries between "private" and "business" can no longer be clearly drawn.
