Any company can apply with one or more submissions. The apps do not necessarily have to be freely available. Furthermore, it does not matter whether the apps are free or paid for. Apps that are used to control machines and systems can also be submitted.
A five-member jury of experts evaluates the submitted apps according to usability, security, relevance and utility value as well as the originality of the idea behind the app. The winner is determined by the online voting of users on elektrotechnik.de, the ratings of users in the respective store and the verdict of the jury. The apps with the best overall results from the three equally weighted partial results emerge as the winners of the four categories.
