On Saturday, November 30, 2019, around 500 guests experienced an enjoyable evening for all the senses at the 4th Crossover Benefit Concert of the four printing and media companies in Würzburg at the Vogel Convention Center. At the same time, the major charity event raised 40,000 euros, which were handed over to the four sponsorship projects from the region before the concert began:
1. renovation of St. John's Church in Würzburg: a unique, national memorial for peace
2. Verein Wildwasser e.V.: Against sexualized violence against children
3. New play equipment for the St. Stephan day care center, Würzburg
4. Call system in the Kilianshof residential complex in Würzburg - for people with disabilities
From classical to jazz to pop: the internationally successful "Quintessence Saxophone Quintet", together with drummer and exceptional percussionist Ruven Ruppik, offered a top-class crossover of Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart. The musical program was put together especially for the concert: Classical music was heard anew through the ears of the present and turned through elements of jazz: Quintessence is one of the most successful saxophone ensembles ever. With Ruven Ruppik, the five saxophonists embarked on a special experiment. The concept, which was initially deliberately reduced to just the saxophones, was expanded to include surprising percussion - the result was a unique concert experience. A special surprise was provided by three members of the dance ensemble from the Mainfranken-Theater Würzburg, who delighted the audience with a dynamic choreography to Mozart's "Kleine Nachtmusik".
The team from Kulinarium Würzburg, led by Jochen Popp, served up a culinary crossover to match. As in previous years, all proceeds from ticket sales as well as donations and sponsorship money went to the projects supported in 2019.

With the Würzburg charity concert, the four organizers, Koenig & Bauer, Mediengruppe Main-Post, Robert Krick Verlag and Vogel Communications Group, have established a major social charity event for Würzburg every year. After ten years of purely classical concerts, a new crossover series was launched in 2016. Personalities, organizations and service clubs from Würzburg society support this extraordinary event and the "good cause" it promotes. To date, the series has already raised almost 750,000 euros in donations in this way and distributed them to a total of 26 sponsored projects.
