Since March 2009, Vogel Business Media has published so-called "encouragement issues" in eight different sectors under the motto "Tackling instead of packing". The aim is to encourage readers and customers in the truest sense of the word: With success stories, positive impulses and tips, these titles defy the current economic crisis mood.
In the run-up to the publication, the respective industry participants were asked to submit their personal recipe for success or promising campaigns for an article to the editorial offices. The response was unexpectedly high - many companies wanted to contribute to the idea of sending out optimistic signals despite the difficult times.
And because real role models like to think outside the box, Vogel Business Media was able to give its readers an additional boost: the application to Germany's largest competition for small and medium-sized enterprises, "Mutmacher der Nation", which was launched six years ago by the DasÖrtliche publishing association. Many have taken advantage of this opportunity for free public relations work. It's not just about fame and honor, but also prize money of over 50,000 euros. "The cooperation with Vogel is a wonderful thing," says Süleyman Ucar, Managing Director of the Essen-based agency BlueChip, which is in charge of the SME campaign: "Together we can do an enormous amount for the reputation of SMEs. Every crisis-proof 'doer' should join the courage movement."
"As one of the major German specialist media houses and the largest industrial publisher, we have been active in the industrial and automotive sectors for a long time. That's why we have taken our responsibility as a representative of our readers' interests seriously and used our journalistic resources to try to positively influence the mood in the crisis with good ideas and successful examples," explains Stefan Rühling, CEO of Vogel Business Media: "We didn't want to talk down the situation, as some other media like to do, but to constructively encourage the German economy in eight sectors."
The following Vogel Business Media titles took part in the initiative with encouraging issues:
- IT-Business - kfz-betrieb
- bike und business - MM MaschinenMarkt
- ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS - elektrotechnik
- PROCESS - bulk solids
