Vogel Business Media launches new print medium "Next Industry"

Magazine on digital transformation in industrial companies

Würzburg/Berlin, 16.04.2018 - Vogel Business Media, one of Germany's leading B2B communications companies, is launching "Next Industry", a high-quality print magazine. With a print run of 10,000 copies, the specialist medium is aimed at managers and decision-makers at major industrial companies in German-speaking countries. Next Industry covers forward-looking topics relating to the digital transformation. These include digital strategies, working environments 4.0 and innovative technologies from the fields of virtual reality, big data and additive manufacturing.

The industry is facing the biggest change since the invention of the assembly line. Next Industry will support companies in their change management, take a closer look at the challenges and opportunities of digitalization and provide strategic and operational insights into innovation processes, new business models and specific approaches. The magazine also provides inspiration for the planning and implementation of digitalization strategies. The comprehensive publication, which is available exclusively by subscription, is published every two months. Each issue of Next Industry is dedicated to a mega-trend in digital transformation with in-depth articles by renowned specialist authors. The first issue on the topic of "Virtual and Augmented Reality" will be published on April 16, 2018.

"With Next Industry, we are dedicating ourselves to digital change in order to accompany companies from the most important sectors on their path to digital transformation," says Bernd Meidel, Publisher of Next Industry: "The themed issues of the magazine each highlight an aspect of digitalization from the perspective of the five sectors automotive, chemicals & life sciences, electrical engineering, IT and mechanical engineering - well-founded, strategic and with high added value for readers." With Next Industry, Vogel Business Media is now adding a cross-sectional medium specifically on issues of digitalization in German industry to its practical range of specialist media in around 20 sectors.

The launch of the magazine will be accompanied by a comprehensive exhibitor presence by Vogel Business Media on around 200 square meters of stand space at the Hannover Messe from April 23 to 27. The Hannover Messe is Germany's largest and most important industrial trade fair with over 200,000 trade visitors.

The editorial team of Next Industry is supported by a Board of Excellence made up of renowned industry experts such as Prof. Dr. Peter Bofinger, economic advisor to the German government, Prof. Dr. Christian Heinrich, Quadriga University Berlin and Prof. Dr. Katja Nettesheim, CEO of the digital consultancy _MEDIATE. The new media brand will be complemented by interactive ExpertTalks with prominent speakers in various German cities. The first event, entitled "Challenge Industrial AR/VR", will take place in Stuttgart on July 19, 2018.

Vogel Business Media was founded in 1891 and today has over 100 specialist publications, 100 digital platforms and over 100 specialist events in the fields of industry, IT, automotive, marketing, law and tax in its portfolio.

With "Next Industry", Vogel is consistently continuing its tradition of pioneering media brands. In 1894, publishing house founder Carl Gustav Vogel launched Maschinenmarkt, one of the first major journalistic platforms for industrialization. In the 1970s, Dr. Kurt Eckernkamp initiated CHIP, the first computer magazine.

The specialist publication "Next Industry" is an important component of Vogel Business Media's "VOGEL 2022" corporate strategy. The media company itself has been successfully tackling the digital transformation for years and offers a wide range of innovative solutions for the communication and networking of industries and markets in addition to its specialist media.

Managing Director Matthias Bauer comments: "With Next Industry, Vogel Business Media is setting the course for the future - not only for our customers and partners, but also for our own company. We are moving from a traditional specialist publisher to a platform company for customer-specific specialist communication that promotes industry expertise and networks skills."
