If several agencies of an insurer are located in one building, an insurance agent may not take his mail from the mailbox of a competitor without authorization. If he does so, the insurer may even terminate his contract without warning. The "Wirtschaftsdienst Versicherungs- und Bausparkaufleute" points out this decision of the Regional Court of Karlsruhe (judgment of 22.1.2010, Ref.: 6 O 302/08).
Background: Occasionally, several agencies of an insurer are located in one office complex. The cooperation between the competing agents does not always run smoothly. Conflicts are inevitable - even if it is only about the mail that ends up in the letterbox of one agency but is intended for the other.
